It's windy and going to rain.
I shant complain though. Not with what Karen's is coping with.

Thank you all for the well wishes. It was quite the night and storm here. Even though we weren't close to the center of the hurricane we had very high winds and tropical downpours. Fortunately there was no flooding around my area but we did have some gust to around 70 mph and a lot in the 50+ range. I'm surprised we didn't lose power. It is still dark here so we haven't been out to see if there are any problems but I suspect there will be some tree damage at least. Hopefully not to the house. We did watch last night as it came ashore and the intensity was terrible. 140+ mph sustained winds and gust to over 150. A category 4 major hurricane. The damage is catastrophic! My best wishes and prayers go out to everyone there. To top it off, there is another storm that could develoipe in the exact same are next week. Hopefully not.

I'm glad you're OK kjay. I can only imagine how frightening the storm must've been.

There are over 4 million people without power in the affected states hit by Helene. I think I read 6 people died from the storm so far.

We're having lots of flooding in NC. Imminent dam failures in some areas (West of me).

Our power flickered on and off throughout the night, and the wind was blowing our deck chairs around (gusts around 60 or so is what was said before I went to sleep). We had a tornado watch until this afternoon.

We got lots of rain, but no visible flooding on the property. A tree broke in our neighbor's yard across the street, and it's covering up half the road. Staying indoors until at least tomorrow.


Our dead trees stayed up this time, too (for now).. Still waiting for the tree people to let us know when they can make their way out here to take care of them.

Heather, I was wondering if it was going to affect you and I am sorry to hear that it did. I am glad to hear that you are okay also. It is definitely a storm that will go down in infamy. 

Hopefully, the dams hold up.  I hear much of Virginia is under some tornado watches/warnings as well.
