And finish reading it I did!

It took a good few hours, but was worth every minute. The story had a bittersweet taste to it and was heartbreaking. Yet there was love in it: a woman fell in love with a different man. Her husband never forgave her. But the story showed the power of the heart. She had fallen in love with someone else.

Can we really control who we fall in love with?

I finished reading another novel today: it took three hours but was worth it.

I now have finished reading a pile of books from my local library. I shall now move onto one of my favourite women's magazines.

I am half way through The Machine Crusade by Stuart Herbert

I'm reading a new book by Valerie M. Bodden, in the River Falls series. So good! I also have a Juliette Duncan (in the Water's Edge series) that released yesterday (as the Bodden book did) and that'll be fun. Both books are "borrowed" through Kindle. My Kindle Unlimited subscription is well worth it!

I read women's mags too, but I am not fussy as to which, as long as it is not "Hello" type magazine, which I abhor, or those silly short stories magazine. They just get on my pip.

I went to the library today. I am now going to read the first novel of four in my recently borrowed pile.

I am addicted to reading!

I finished both books from last Tuesday, and I have another to finish that I had been reading before that. New ebook coming next Friday or Saturday!

Any bets on how long before I try a print book (Feather on the Moon, Phyllis A. Whitney) that I snagged yesterday? It may end up in a neglected pile...

I got it from the book exchange today

I no longer have the time or probably the concentration to read a book in one sitting.

Although the translation can affect the speed at which a book goes. A good translation can mean the all difference in a book.
When I read I don't just read, I see the faces, hear the voices so its quite difficult, such as in my last book where it's set in Edinburgh, to read Dutch words but hear Scottish voices.

Well I'm sorry but that book was totally weird. Without any introduction a character pops up who is losing the ability to speak. There's about 20 pages that just have a single sentence or a single word on them. Later on there's a similar section filled with numbers. The protagonist a 9-year-old boy has got to be the singularly most weird child I have ever heard of and believe me my lot are basket cases.
I decided to cut my losses and spare anyone else the pain of trying to read it it's gone into the recycling bin.

I shall be diving into a book shortly: it needs to be read, so I will be sitting down - with no interruptions - and reading for a good four hours.

Novel here I come!

I have finished "The Riddle of the Third Mile". It was as good as I remembered. Now I have started "The Secret of Annexe 3". The next in the Inspector Morse series.

My library books need to be returned on Friday: this means I will need to quicken my pace.
