Mmmmm . . . perhaps he wasn't trustworthy. I know that this should be on a different thread, but I'm curious. Which political leaders from the UK past and present do you admire? After your response, I'll return the normal thread before I have to smack our wristies!
For Labour Michael Foot was my favourite, but he never got past leader of the opposition. Tony Benn was a minister in late 70's in the Labour government, he was my favourite, very plain speaking and very honest.
As a conservative leader I respected William Hague, who also came across as a man of the people, very rare among conservatives as you can imagine. But he never made Prime Minister either.
I seem to step onto the wrong bandwagon every time....

Aw, sorry. Francis is the most down to earth, environmentally friendly, and peace-loving pope in my lifetime. When Heather comes on, I'm certain that she will second my emotion.
Yeah, for the most part he is heading people in the right direction. Nobody is perfect, though ;p I'm sure he still has some backwards thoughts, but he often surprises me in a good way.
