I was recently tempted to throw some grape seeds out in my yard... they came from what was supposed to be seedless grapes I was eating lol
It's surprising sometimes what can be grown from seeds obtained from store produce. Our apple tree came from a pip my stepson planted when he was little and when I was into slightly hotter peppers I obtained all my birds eye chillis from shop bought. It's oftens pot luck as to what you actually end up getting though
I will be taking down my hydroponics this weekend, cleaning everything and putting it away until the fall.
I shall partly clean out my tanks today but I am going to use the old nutrient that they contain for watering my other plants, as it is fertiliser, so it will be a few days before they are ready for a complete clean.
My day-lilies are past the peak unfortunately. Bright spot, they'll be back next year!
My day lillies are past the peak and way over the furthest hill, as the SO is allergic, so we don't have them. She only has to smell them to iritate....
Hydroponics down, cleaned and put away until the fall.
I cleaned mine yesterday. I only have a couple of tomato plants now but they are fed differently, more like normal pots. I plan to restart after the tomato season which is September here. Temperatures are lower then.
I need to sort out my normal planting for later in the year too.

I will be starting my seeds in mid September to get ready for October planting.
Might replace the dead azalea one last time this fall.. the others are still doing okay, and it's just the one this time so far instead of half that died lol it's like they can't handle the summers here when new because sometimes we get way too much rain and/or extreme heat, and they aren't having any of it.

I have around half a dozen house plants in my apartment: and I look after them well. I love plants and flowers and nature in general. I cannot get bored with nature.
We always have something in bloom around here, wild flowers of all kinds too. It is really pretty but you have to put up with the allergies if that sort of thing bothers you.
Thorns. All my palms are loaded when them. It has to be the hardest thing for me to prune. I have to wear gloves and a long sleeved top or I will look like a used pin cushion.

I usually end up with a few blood spots when I chop the brambles at the bottom of the garden, some even pricking through my gloves. My stepson used to amuse me, where we used to live. When he was little and still wearing nappies (diapers) but walking he used to go to the bottom of the garden and pick blackberries off the bush and eat them. I have difficulty without getting pricked at times so I was amazed that he never had any problems. Maybe it is the little hands geting past the thorns

Our wooded garden is full of brambles. I have got stuck into them, and pull them regularly before they get tall. I have found that there are very few prickles at the base of the stalk.
