I was very intriverted at school, and didn't really have friends or people who I hung out with at lunchtime or what ever
for the most part, kids just left me alone- for the most part, I left other kids alone too.
if I was bullied, (and I was) it either had something to do with the fact that I couldn't keep information in my head for long (I was really bad at school when it came to remembering things), or sometimes it had to do with my accidents (like wetting myself during lessons, for example)
the whole intrivert thing wasn't really a problem for people. I had no friends, and kids were fine with that
I was picked on every now and then. My experiences with it started in elementary school even. I really didn't like going to school. College was better at least.
i was bullied and made fun of every day in school and outside of school.
Our school was ok for bullying. There was plenty of it, but it wasn't systematic. Basically, you got it, if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I blended in and didn't at the same time. We had school uniforms.. but I left my hair natural, and that was usually what everyone made fun of. They would put gum in my hair.. candy in my hair.. paper balls in my hair... laughing at me while they do it.

I wasnt ever bullied in the classic sense. For me it was a form of exclusion. I spoke differently that the others and I had knowledge that they didnt, I didnt have to take reading classes I was sent to the library to choose what books I wanted to read and was allowed to read alone. That made me odd, I was brainbox, Professor etc,not that I cared.
At secondary school (11years and older) a couple of people tried to bully me. Sadly they learned that when pushed I have a temper that exceeds rage. They never tried again.
However my children were bullied from time to time I took my eldest child out of school and home schooled him for almost 2 years because it got so bad. But there were times I simply marched into the school leaned over said bully and explained in graphic detail what would happen if he /she ever laid a finger on my child again.
Honestly Im shocked looking back that I never got arrested , maybe its because I did what the teachers had wanted to do but were prevented by rules...

LOL Sounds ideal. What did your kids make of that?

They called me the Terminator! But they always knew I would be there to protect them.

I wasn't beat up, but I was teased a lot in elementary school. Some of the kids figured out quickly how to push my buttons, and it was years before I could cool down my temper. Then it flared again under stress and dysfunctional relationships when I got to adulthood. *Sigh* But I am a much more peaceful person these days, thank goodness. It just isn't worth it to waste my energy on being uptight!
I always felt like an outsider because I was quick at learning. I think jealousy made some people ignore or exclude me simply because they felt inferior on the learning scale. In junior high, people were nicer about it overall, not too jealous. Same for high school. No issues in college/university classes. Now, I just embrace it if I'm nerdy and geek out about a subject. People seem to admire the quick learning and such when you're an adult, though they won't necessarily chase after themselves - too much effort when they're more social peeps than I am? ("How do you read so many books? It's amazing!" "I make time to read. That's all.")
I also was always a fast learner, but I don't think anyone had any issue with me for that. Not entirely anyway lol I do remember this one kid, I suppose he considered himself the ultimate nerd that nobody could be smarter than, and he once asked me with kind of a rude tone how my grade on a science test was better than his LOL I got over 100 because I also correctly answered the extra credit questions. He was not happy. What he didn't know is that I was supposed to be in AP classes, but I was sick too often to actually keep up in those classes, so the normal classes were easy peasy.
The main problem people seemed to have with me was how shy and quiet I was. I guess I was an easy target. I even had a teacher tell the class she didn't like quiet students, and she was really harsh with me. She refused to accept my doctor notes when I was absent, and she instead decided to fail me for being absent too often instead of letting me make up anything. I had to retake ENGLISH over a summer because of her, and even though I got an A, it didn't make up for the fail she gave me.. it just brought me to a C. She was a bully, honestly.

I had a few teachers that were bullies, she was not unique.
