my first online experience was researching homework on roald dahl and visiting the official charlie and the chocolate factory website. t may have ojnly been research, but was prety facinated by the whole idea of the internet at the time.
my first forum was the cbbc newsround forum, posted their for a few years until I got too old for it lol
and I used to use dialup. very frustrating and slow
I think online with me was very gradual. I remember dial up, and the rush to get online to free dial up's as normal connection was expensive (who remembers Freeserve?). I think the first serious time was at work though as we were in liaison with a section of IBM at the time and they ran a special bulletin board. We were intending patient access but it was perhaps too early (pre internet)and it never took off. Mainly due to limited resources though.

My first online experience was downloading music from a website onto CDs. I also loved Handbag.com back in the day. It is such a shame the site closed down.
I also remember those old dial up wires. They were a pain.
