I took the youngest for a haircut this morning. He didn't seem to fidget much, or maybe I couldn't see that he was fidgeting with just his fingers? Proud of him for sticking it out and not complaining too much about a summer cut. He's looking forward to letting his hair grow in the winter, since he likes long and wild!
I spent some time after lunch trying to get more information for my mum to use in her current scrapbook spread. Found more photos and documents, but nothing that gave the detail I hoped for. Still, it was fun to look through my photos and see that organising them could be a future project.
When it came to watching a show or two this afternoon, I insisted they needed to see Barney & Friends just once. And we also saw that The Weird Al Show (kids show from 1997) was available, so we tried that too. I probably enjoyed that hour of TV the most of all of us - because of the nostalgia factor!

day 9 of my isolation from the world. the first week i'm usually restless then when it's time to go back to work i'm just getting used to being a beached whale and enjoying it.
i slept 6 hrs last night. got up had some tea and read a couple articles and did my wordle and wordiply. chatted here. showered. chatted on the psych forum. ate a little lunch. read the local paper and part of the guardian. got distracted like a person with adhd and went on a side journey online that ended up just frustrating me so i left it.
took a 3 hr nap i think. idk what time i laid down for sure. i been looking for things for my final avatars for us but likely won't start anything til later. i got an idea for cassie's avatar but not sure it will work. we'll see. played with the ai art generator a little.
i added a couple more games to the phone. i already had stardew valley and assassin's creed rebellion. haven't touched stardew in almost 2 wks. played ac twice. when i'm tired or sick i don't play much. last night i dl'd bingo blitz & today i dl'd elvenar & played a little of both a few minutes ago.
it's hot as hell out so i'm sitting here tryna stay cool. at least i'm feeling a little better. i was kinda shaky earlier and not sure why.
oh yeah almost forgot...did a little reading in my james patterson book. i been a busy girl.

Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.

yes ma'am i am!
Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.
I had 2.5 hours meeting with a bunch of idiots, these guys talked about nothing but themselves with all the facts mixed up.
I remember those meetings from days gone. Worst was when you sat next to a whisperer.
I sat next to one who talked too much about himself which I didn't care for. I was one of the people who interviewed a chef for the school. Everyone at that table called themselves a chef which was comical to me.
Our school had rules such as: Farm to table, local vendors, cage free chicken and eggs, no ocean seafood, only farm raised, no drink more than 26% sugar, organic products and menu should not be the same at least 4 weeks consecutively.....We interviewed people around those ideas so i asked something like, How do you use food to build a community, to raise fund, sample menu for two weeks if each meal has a salad variety, fruits, soup, two entrees, what kind of drink to serve, what kind of hours for the dining hall...I did not hear anything I liked.

Interviews could be really cringing. One arrived with a broken arm, which was fine, I could have appointed him when it healed. So I asked him what the prognosis for his arm was. His reply knocked me sideways. What is a prognosis?
I couldn't believe it. How had he passed any exams?

I agree with you there but, from the other side, I have come across managers who love to put themselves over as being up to date so learn the latest buzz words and use them without really getting the point that an abbreviation (particularly) can be a tripping point for someone who is otherwise experienced in a subject.
Yesterday I had a day off from the usual turmoil and went with one of our art group to an art festival. Luckily, although there was rain in the air all day, it was not wet enough to dampen things too much: www.patchingsartcentre.co.uk/

My first boss used to wind up his first boss by teaching him the latest buzz words.
By latest he was covering the fact that he was making them up as he went along. He said his best result resulted in his boss regularly saying "caramelising". ie chewing it over, or thinking about it.

made dinner tonight. put on weight layin around eatin pizza almost all week. lol! it's funny not funny. dr is gonna sh*t when he see's my a1c next month. made avatars, napped, did a little gaming, chatting, napped some more, and just goin a little bit bonkers.

I picked a tub full of redcurrents in the garden this morning and cut the bushes back a bit afterward. I've only done about a third of them though. I also cut about half of the hedge. I will do things in easy stages lol. The tomatoes are coming on better now, even though the weather is not the best. I also notice that I have a lot of chilli peppers coming, in the greenhouse. It looks like the freezer may be full again this year
Met up with my daughter today, and went round the local antique market. We ate out and I had a toasted brie bacon and cranberry baguette. A really different mix I never heard of before. I really liked it, but see we have run out of cranberry sauce, so I have added it to my shopping list.
Couches are here! They are comfy just like the ones we tried in the store; thank goodness! Not another experience like our last couch where it was so much harder than the ones we tested even after 5+ years of use.
We gave our old couch to his cousin, who came by to pick it up today. That took over an hour because we were strapping it in the back of the truck.
We also washed laundry, mostly blankets. I recently bought some blue cotton blankets to use on the couch, and they are huge. It's going to be so comfy and snuggly now, which is exactly what we wanted after a long day of work... so this is a nice upgrade for our TV/movie time
