I did some more research about the Endowment Management software I would like to use. I sent out inquiries for a demo this coming week. The reviews of these applications are all over the place, very confusing.

I've had my daily shower and put on a load of laundry. I also am airing out my apartment and running the fan. I keep on top of the washing up and took out all the recycling, too.
There is a Korean grocery store where we get the fruits from. Their strawberries and tangerines are great. They also have these mini, bite-size dumplings and just the right size package of vegetables. We are going there today.
I plan to look for houses some more. We will be in NV next month to see some houses but we also want a condo in DC or Northern VA areas. We are aiming at leaving the rat race in 2-3 years max.
Today was grocery shopping and hibernation day. Summer heat has arrived and it's not for me! I was enjoying it when it was more like late-spring temps. Hopefully the forecasts are correct that it'll start to cool some by Thursday...
There's still laundry to finish this evening, and I should check the PVR to see what's waiting. I think I have mostly travel and history documentaries on there right now.
No, it's the shower. It is leaking from the trap. Looking at it, it was badly fitted initially. I scraped off loads of glue.
Glue that shouldn't have been there at all.
Oh I see, looks like something you can handle. Plumbing service is terribly expensive nowadays.
Not so far. I am going into town today to buy a new trap. I hope the seals will make it easier to slip onto the pipe. I don't seem to be strong enough...

If things are screw on is that a place where you would use PTFE tape to stop leaking from the threads?
Making things slip on pipes easier, as long as they don't need glue, I often use silicone grease or vaseline. It can make a big difference when fitting.

OH prefers glue fittings to the newer push types because the rubber seals tend to perish especially with the use of cleaning products. And an out of sight fitting is always a worry. But to get that easier push fit he warms one end of the fittings pushes in and then as it cools the fit is snug and secure.
When using glue the secret is good quality plastics glue and not too much which can be as bad as too little. On screw fittings for gas and water we always use PTFE for a secure fixing... Happy plumbing...

Were you able to fix it?
We have two showers. I didn't feel inclined to lol
Yesterday I had one of the fairly local art group meetings which I was able to walk to. Luckily it was a nice day so had a nice walk along with a little artwork
Putting the rest of the roof on the shed hopefully without hold ups because where we did have a good weather report this morning weve heard that storms hail and high winds are forecast for this evening
It's been a good day here so far. A bit of cooking after breakfast (done before the heat got here) and then a neighbourhood walk. After that, kitchen clean-up, a little reading by way of an audiobook*, and I'm close to finishing a letter for my penpal in Germany.
Time for lunch, and maybe more reading!
*Note: I seem to enjoy audiobooks better when I can also play a game on my tablet. I'm not sure if that should be deemed distracted reading, but I could get off track with a print book too...

woke at 5 something this morning. i needed to use some sinus spray so i went ahead and did my final covid test before that so i could take care of my sinuses. had tea and waited for word from the employee health nurse on when i could return to work. waited for that damn package of crocs from 10 am til almost 3. sat there tired and pissed off and was just gettin grouchier by the minute cuz i needed a nap and didn't wanna miss the package and i don't feel good. took said nap. decorated new crocs with new charms and the older ones. been on edge all day. good times.
Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.
I went to work, had a 2 hours lunch with the IT team at a Mexican restaurant. Met with the Dir of HR, had tea with her on campus. Dinner was fish and rice.
