Yesterday I took a long walk in the morning and then in the afternoon I sorted lots of things out in the garden, I've got all the redcurrents in, at least all I'm going to as they are a bit over ripe. The birds can have a treat with the rest. I cut the bushes back a bit while I was doing them. I also finished cutting the hedge. The washing dried well yesterday and today there is more to go out. It's good weather for clearing things up, but I hope to relax a little more today.
Well.... got my blood work done today, but the woman who did it is not very good. It hurt during, and then afterward, the alcohol she had rubbed the area clean with felt like it went into my vein, and omg that hurt. Also, I gushed blood all over my arm, which never happens... so she messed something up.
Not only that, but once I got up to leave.. I almost made it outside and started to feel very sick... then I got dizzy and quickly made it over to a bench to sit down, and I almost completely blacked out. My vision was going in and out, I was sweating, clammy... and I told my SO to run in and get a nurse to bring me some water and something with sugar in it. So, a different nurse came out and put ice packs on me, gave me some cold water and apple juice... and I felt much better within 5 minutes.
I still feel a tiny bit off in my brain to be honest, though. I haven't had this happen in so many years, so I'm not sure what made it happen exactly this time. I have naturally low blood pressure and blood sugar, so I eat a snack and drink plenty of water beforehand, which has been working so well until today... but maybe she made me lose too much blood It's a very scary experience.

Thats very bad, I hope you wont have to see that blood stealer again.

I have always found that patients complaining about staff being rough, or causing more pain than expected was always indicative of poor quality.
I don't ever recall such complaints about who I respected as clinicians.

I don't know if I can avoid her. It will be whoever happens to be working on whichever days I can schedule my blood work But I am tempted to maybe have my labs sent elsewhere and trying my luck. There's a lot of people who aren't the greatest at drawing blood, unfortunately. I was getting it done at my primary care office, but they said they no longer will do my thyroid labs because I am under the care of an endo, which never was an issue before. I guess it's about the almighty dollar over them letting me go to an office conveniently near my house... they'd rather I come in for a visit and get labs done all together.

I went out for lunch today. I also edited one of my popular poems to a traditional rhyme scheme. I then translated it into Spanish. But I cheated and used Google translate. I don't speak a word of Spanish.
I helped my sister prepare dinner and have done various admin tasks.

I had 2 sick kids here yesterday, but they're feeling better today and relaxing. Whew!
I've started the laundry and paid one of the annual insurance bills (renter's insurance this time, with car insurance to come in a couple weeks). Also did a few more money-related tasks, and I'm just waiting till Wednesday to pay off the card I used for the Prime Day deals. (I usually don't use credit anymore, but it seemed smarter this time than having so many small amounts coming right from the debit card.)
I was also supposed to get in touch with the TV provider for new equipment, but the chat and phone queues were too long for my taste. I'll try again tomorrow! A new PVR sounds like a good idea, though. (We recently got a newer modem when it was time to renew our internet package. The other was so old we can just recycle rather than return!)
