I have a male friend that went to England, was in a pub, and had to take a leak. When he went the loo, there was a little sign over his urinal that read "Please refrain from tossing your fags in here, as it makes them soggy and difficult to relight."
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice then sit back and watch as the world wonders how you did it.
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait ‘til tomorrow For babies grow up we've learnt to our sorrow, So quiet down cobwebs Dust go to sleep I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep

Brad and Dave . . . great adverts!
What about the word "schedule"? Those in the UK pronounce it as shed-ule, while here in the colonies, we pronounce it as sked-ule. I pronounce it the UK-way now because it makes sense!

Because of me, a few of my friends are pronouncing it that way too! They said that they hadn't thought about it, but looking at the spelling, they agree with me. Cher, I told you about my roots.

I just youtubed Kacey singing "My House" in Manchester. When the show was over, one of the band members took his hat off for the crowd. I was curious about the "hats off" tradition and found that it dates back to the knights in medieval times. They wore their helmets for protection, but would remove them when in the presence of friends as a sign of respect.

I googled it, but didn't come up with a definitive answer regarding the term's origin. They mentioned the UK and the Colonies, so maybe it was a "joint" term. You know what it means though, right?
not sure how many UK guys are here now, but in curious how you all say,, scone/scon.. do you pronounce the E?

The actual correct pronunciation is actually "skoon". It comes from the town that made them famous.
so how do you say it? i say scone, like cone with the S, people say 'oh you would, you think your posh' but i think scon sounds posher than scone...
