I used to buy my wife flowers sometimes when we had an argument or something, but do you think that is a good idea? What good ideas is there for a husband to say sorry to his love of his life?
I once bought flowers from a shop but I didn't know these were not so special and my wife didn't really like them, but I guess she felt loved. What about you? Has your significant other / husband / fiancee / boyfriend got you some flowers? Did you like them? or were you like..."whatevs"

No: I'd appreciate flowers and would feel glad he made the effort.
It is a romantic gesture that most women love. After an argument you would still need to also apologise and admit your error vocally. Just handing over a bunch of flowers alone isn't enough. If you can admit you're wrong, you'll make the peace.

oh right, opps, yes, I forgot to mention that. sometimes when i was made (not today but before) I would try to give her a kiss but she didn't move so i kissed her cheek or forehead and eventually, after my anger cools, and I 'm not a j@ck@ss or raising my voice or something...she is her happy self and I'm happy too
I can't stand to see her upset, specially when it's MY fault
When we were very young if we ever had angry words my husband would buy me a bottle of champagne...
To be honest I'm not really a champagne drinker.
I love flowers and I always have a bunch of flowers in the house I used to work as a florist. It's not so much about the flowers it's about which flower and how you give it so to offer a single rose with a heartfelt apology is worth more than a huge bunch of flowers sent with insincerity.
I've only gotten flowers once. I had a date on Valentine's day one year. Got chocolates too. I'm not a big flower fan cuz I'm not used to being adored so it's whatevs for me. I'd rather not. I'd rather hear the apology from his lips and see in his actions that he's gonna get his act together. But that's just me.

yeah, my wife wants me to do that same. you says "you always say sorry but never change" oh how that stings cuz she's right but I"m trying and that's why I'm a Christian too. I'm a sinner who can't change so I ask God "help me pleease" and God is helping me, to change and love my Mrs. I do love her really very very much.
The only ones to ever buy me flowers were people who were untrustworthy, so I guess I don't need them lol but it can be a nice gesture otherwise... Apologies don't mean anything if the person keeps doing the same thing without even attempting to do better.

I've rarely received flowers, but that's okay. I prefer a colorful bouquet of different blooms rather than a dozen roses of the same color. While shopping, I'll occasionally buy a bouquet that happens to strike my fancy.
Thank you Mary. Yes, I remember it. What is similar to what I went through but I was a little more wicked, but God is helping and I'm sober for a long time, thanks to God.
part of the reason i don't dig gifts and flowers and stuff as apologies is cuz my ex used to try to buy my forgiveness. it always made me feel like a cheap ho.

you are not a cheap ho, you are dearly loved by God and many think you are awesome and very valuable and special. ..some are just blind though

I used to like carnations, tulips, or a single rose. Cheap enough that it didn't feel like a foolish purchase when it's not going to last long. (Carnations last the longest, btw.) I would receive flowers for special occasions mostly.
I like to remember to give my mum flowers because my dad isn't the type to do that. She and I appreciate some of the same things, so that helps. If I'm buying for her, I usually get some for me as well. Teach the boys what I like...
I also really like to see flowers in their natural habitat, so I need to go for a walk and take photos of them. Keeps them alive, too.
Speaking of the Fireproof movie, there's a good novelisation of it. I've got it, along with the novelisations of all of the Kendrick Brothers movies (except the newest, so that's on my to-buy list). And I have multiple copies of the Love Dare book so that my boys can have their own plus I get to keep one! The only part of the movie I always wish would be different? When the computer gets hurt. LOL

My first ever job was in a market garden. All we grew was tomatoes and carnations.

I like carnations (my favourite) and tulips. I used to give my mother a single rose whenever I got back home every semester break. We live in a tight knit community so whenever our neighbour(s) came to the house and saw a rose in the vase, they would call my name out loud to greet me welcome home. It's a lovely memory.
I like giving flowers and appreciate receiving flowers too, whether bought or picked in the garden. Even garden weeds can make me smile. I have a tiny vase for those.
I worked in a florist once upon a Time. There was a man who used to come every Thursday and buy a dozen long stemmed red roses and a bunch of whatever was short and cheap and that bunch he would put into his briefcase then I would hear him using the public telephones calling his wife saying he had to work late go to a meeting whatever the Red Roses were for his lover.
Then there were two ladies who always came in together obviously very good friends but one was obviously much more well-off than the other and she would always ask for two bunches of flowers ...identical bunches, one for herself one for her friend. One day the friend arrived and asked for a large bunch of flowers, she explained her very good friend had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had only a few weeks to live she said, I want to give her the flowers now while she can see them m.
At the moment I'm waiting for the warm weather. My front garden will have one rose bush , (I'm not a rose kind of person) but my mother was, she loved red roses they were the only flowers she wanted at her funeral. So Ive found a red rose called Katie's Rose. I will plant it where I can see it everyday and think of her.

That is beautiful. I shall remember Katie's Rose.
