It's kind of a necessary evil. I love that we have been able to come into our own. The right to vote, being able to buy a home without being married, becoming leaders in society, the government and the workplace was so hard fought by the women who came before us that I feel honored and driven to keep doing the best I can for myself and other women. The only time I take issue with it is when it turns into just a man-bash fest.

Agreed.
I am for it when it's just about equal rights for everyone, as women used to be looked upon as if we weren't equal to men in the past (some men might still hold those views), so that was/is the whole point of it. I am not interested in anyone who tries to use it as a reason to hate men or as if we should be deemed superior; I consider anyone of that sort to be an extremist who tarnishes the name of feminism.

It seems that feminism is not the in thing to support here.
Maybe if you gave us your point of view and your ideas of feminism, tell us why its so important to you.
You might find there is more support than you think its just that many of us don't go in for big gestures or flag waving.
Well, I think that I found here quite good support. My guess is that feminism is equality in rights for women and it's quite important since women are much more peaceful creatures than men and should be in politics in the same number as men. How many female ministers had Hitler, for example?

That's a good point.
Alternatively, suggest that we have too much equality, and feel your ears burning.
As for 'too much equality' I find an English expression 'big half' funny. A 'half' can't be big or small. So you don't have too much equality in Britain?

I can't say I have heard that one as a specific saying although I suppose we often used it, in a fashion, when, for instance, a bar of chocolate was split between two of us when we were children. There was always a disagreement on who would have the big half
More often it was later on when sharing a glass of drink. It was sensible to have the top half as you could claim half of what was left as being the new top half

I agree on equal rights not extra rights. I agree on being treated as an equal where I am equal I dont expect favours simply because Im female.
I believe a woman should have the full rights and control of her body her possesions and her life. men should have the same for themselves too..
as for being more peaceful I dont agree, I think we seem that way simply because we are under represented.
When women do get power they can be as bad if not worse than men. British recent history will show Margret Thatcher to be a cruel and uncaring woman who caused misery and suffering among the poorest in the Uk she is known as Maggie Thatcher the milk snatcher because she took milk that was provided free to school children in order to save money.
As for Nazis maybe not standing next to Hitler but doing his work Greta Bosel nurse of death, Alice Orlowski who found pleasure in thinking of torture methods so bad they sent people insane, Ilse Koch the beast of Buchenwald who collected the tattooed skin from prisoners...
Then there are other historical figures Countess Elizabeth Báthory ( the cannibal)
Queen Isabella, who decided all Jews and Muslims should be expelled from Spain.
Empress Wu Zetian, who killed anyone who spoke against her ever her own grandchildren
Mary 1st of England who burned protestants at the stake
Irene of Athens who gouged out her own sons eyes so that they could never rule in her place

For one such a woman we have 10000 such men. What is a probability of an attack of a gang of women in the streets at night?

It is lower than being attacked by men, but I would still avoid a gang of females every chance I could.
Never heard of such gangs, but maybe I just don't keep pace with life
Women can be very sadistic. I remember, from school. Among males it was more physical rough and tumble but with females it could be far nastier with mental agression as well as physical. In my opinion the worst non physical attack I was aware of was when a group of girls send a nicely gift wrapped parcel to another girl they had issue with, leaving it on her desk adressed to her. She opened it, effectively, in front of the whole class and inside found a beautifully presented wooden spoon. No physical agression at all but I really felt for her and wondered how much it affected her over the years
Some women do go out of their way to prove themselves in male company though. On the streets you could well come across someone who has a point to prove in some of the rougher areas. My experience has more been with seeing nasty individuals with followers being led on.
I think judging from these stories its easy to see that women are not far off being equal to men when it comes to being violent or cruel.
Feminism is a good thing as long as it is used to improve the rights of women and thre are still far too many injustices from pay and working conditions right through to health care and the right to make choices for your own body. But the rights of women should never be used to beat anyone else it should not be a weapon to make men submit or feel pushed out.
Its about Equality... not better or more just equal..
Never heard of such gangs, but maybe I just don't keep pace with life

Yes, sure, but nevertheless 99,9% atrocities are done by men. Mental agression is one thing and murders and concentration camps another.... Of course, there are bad women, no doubt about it.

So you are telling us that all those murders and those evil women account for less than 0.1 percent of the population? This rose-tinted attitude is really what gives feminism a Bad name refusing to accept that women are and can be as sadistic as violent as dangerous as men given the opportunity and the motive. Equality starts when we say there are bad people in this world. And do not feel the need to identify them by gender.

To be frank, I can't see anything 'rose-tinted' or some other way tinted in the matter. How many women were in the SS, for example? Or khmer rouge? For me it is just facts and nothing about sexism. Maybe it's something wrong with my country - our murderers are mostly male. If somewhere females are equally violent it's OK with me too. But so far I have such views as I wrote.
