Christianity, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, all have similarities, and differences.

Some religions may actually ban people from marrying outside of their religion.

What would you do?

Please explain your choice.

I voted Yes.

I am never going to get the hang of religion. I once tried when I thought I was dying, no chance. So anyone I intended to marry, would be happy with that.

If they weren't we would not have come that close to discussing marriage.

I went with maybe.

I think it would depend on how religious they were. Some people may be a little religious, but maybe they don't practice it too strictly, and I could be okay with that lol you know, they have their own beliefs, but don't shove them in my face. I respect that.

If it was someone who went to church every Sunday, had to pray before dinner, and constantly want to convert me... then I wouldn't even date them. That would be too much of a difference for me.

Right now I'm with an atheist, and I'm agnostic, so would that count as outside my religion?? ;-)

When Cher first encouraged me to defect to here I initially thought it as a more or less Christian site.

It took me some time to decide.

I actually messaged Cher I felt as if I had to hide my long time researched atheism.

I'm so glad I don't feel I have to hide it.

I am also glad religious people here are not cowering.

I know it sounds strange, but I just won't tolerate that type of discrimination that leads to misunderstanding, to segregation, and eventually hate.

We have people of a bunch of different upbringings and religions, but I guess most of us here are more agnostic or atheist lol

As long as everyone can be open-minded, accepting, and keep the peace, then there will be no issues :-)

Respect is necessary.
I don't mind a little heat.
I can take that.
But personal attacks, no.
That includes telling me that I won't go to heaven because I don't believe in it anyway.
A typical Christian passive aggressive comment.

Yeah, I don't like being told that I'm going to hell for being a different religion, and I am very used to hearing that lol usually by random people. And what is most funny is that they think they are being kind and helpful, you know, saving my soul and such...

I am Roman Catholic but even so I can't recite Bible verses from memory. But I don't think any Christian should suggest anybody is going to Hell. I think such judgements were reserved to God the Father.

Of course that doesn't mean we Christians cannot judge a person's actions. But here again I think such judgements are of primary value for personal and instructional sakes.

Jeepers do I sound like a lawyer or what?

Oh, I prefer to marry within the Christian religion.

Trust me I have enough arguments with my husband over politics. I don't need any Holy War at home.

I think I already said that I once dated a conservative politician?

We agreed never to discuss politics. He was actually a very sweet guy. When we did talk about situations that politics affected, we always agreed, but just at the last minute, he went right and I went left.

You sound like one of my good Catholic friends that love me hard, even knowing I'm an atheist.

It is crazy how well we get along, and kid each other about our views.

Under the influence of 3 glasses of wonderful Mondavi (my fav) I did a demo of favorite Christian holidays.

Ash Wednesday I chose by hopping around the room asking insanely; "did you get our ashes yet"?

OMG they were hysterical.

I'll leave the Catholic boy skit being caught masturbating by his religious sister on the shelf for now Prisc.

Don't want to violate any website covenants just yet.

It is riotous and no, the Catholic guys don't care for it one bit.
