Not too sure if this thread fits here.

My folks are partners in a real estate group that owns several

apartment complexes, condos, etc.

So this couple moved in like 4 years ago, and have two young, but grown kids.

So now I guess it turns out he is listed as a sex offender for something

he did like 15 years ago.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody knew this at the time he moved in.

Anyway all we know is he had some sexual contact with

a 16 YO girl.

No details other than that.

So somehow this couple found out and is panicking all the residents.

They even passed out flyers with his unit number, picture, and everything.

So, I mean he is not a child molester, and this happened so long ago, with no further problems

as far as we know.

They want us to force them out.

What do you think about this?

I know some people are marked as sex offenders even if it's consensual because they are, say, 19... dating a 16 year old. Usually it's the parents who do this.

I wouldn't throw someone out if that were the scenario.

I'm still not sure I'd throw him out.. he has already lived there for 4 years without an issue.

I mean yeah the offense whatever it was is like 15 years ago, with nothing further.

We did a BG check on him to see, but you just get the arrest record

without details.

This couple even had the police out twice now we're finding out.

Shell, I have to tell you this. My aunt sent me 2 little stuffed tigers for my birthday a few years ago. I worked with Gloria, de El Salvador, who had a little stuffed tiger in the rear window of her Honda. Because I had 2, I brought one of them into work and gave it to her. Yeah I'm never too sure about my family's roles.

This is mostly on my mom's side.

My dad is neutral in this corporation

But they both think the guy is not a threat and doing no harm.

There may be some legal action on behalf of the corp my mom says.

Unfortunately in the US they have so many things listed as sex offenses.

Examples:

Any non family adult mentioning or discussing sex with persons younger than 18.

No coercion necessary. (This just cannot be true)

Public urination

Breast feeding in public (some states)

Observation of male in aroused state. Evidently if a 17 YO girl sees a bulge on a guy,

through his pants, bathing suit, etc. she can have him arrested.

I can just see the cops at the summer Olympics cuffing all those guys in Speedos.

Inappropriate touching (undefined) WTF is that.

Masturbation observation. I guess if someone looks in your window while wanking you get busted in your own home.

Also may include "wet dreams" if observed by other family member.

Possession of certain pornography, including clothed models, but in provocative poses. WTF exactly is that?

Also, it remains unclear if the model may also be arrested.

This is some crazy stuff Callie.

We need to be safe, but this is overreach.
