I've known that for the past 5 years or so. Before long I will be the only bee left.
Yes, we knew the colonies were collapsing for a while, but now we're having a lot more information. I don't see it getting much better any time soon, but maybe we'll figure something out... Probably robotic pollinators.. lol

Several reports blame CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) on pesticides.
However that is very inconclusive and almost old school.
I remember doing bee dissections in HS and don't recall pesticides being evident.

Listening to my PR station today, there was an hour segment devoted to saving my little friends. On the show, a woman said that one out of every three bites of food that we take in are bee-related. Barack now has initiated a pollination policy in this country. Save the BEES!

The Aussies figured things out before us. They saw it happening 10 years ago and moved the bee-keepers away from agricultural areas that were prone to crop pesticides. In Australia, bees are still thriving. Good Onya, AUS!
I once read this book by Douglas Coupland called "Generation A" and a large part of it was related to bee colony loss. It sets place in the near future, 2050 or something like that and basically real fruit was rare and pretty much all food was manufactured because there were no bees left.

I always appreciated Morgan's talents as an actor, but I appreciate him even more now! In the video he said that he doesn't wear a protective suit because his bees don't sting him. I identify with that because my little friends don't sting me either. If bees don't regard you as threatening, they won't sting you. On a side note, Kacey Musgraves will be singing on The Tonight Show tonight. Well, it's not like I have this Girl-Crush thing going on with her.

I worked 4 hours today and when I came home, I saw a decent sized honey bee on my clover in the front yard. Yes, I touched him, but allowed him to carry on with his work.
