i think im right in saying we dont have many parents on here but i just want to see what other peoples views are, maybe ask your parents, friends that are parents or any other family member that have kids..
i use a mum and baby forum and atm im being slashed for my recent post 'tips for potty training a 1 year old'
i will be honest, yes i do want M potty trained ASAP i will also be honest and say one of the main things that i really dont like, is seeing a child over 2 still wearing a nappy, i hope i dont offend no one, i dont judge people bcos i do know there are reasons behind it sometimes but the one reason i hate.. LAZINESS!! my motto is 'live and let live' and thats exactly what i do, if your child is 3 and still in a nappy, thats fine your child your choice, but i do not want M in a nappy at 2 year old!
when i say im potty training M i dont mean like actively, i only let him go commando every now and then and put him on the potty to see if he will wee, if he wees in his pants then okay, accidents happen, put him on the potty while i clean it up and try again, i know at 12 month it will be hard bcos he doesnt have good communication skills just yet, he cant tell me when he needs to go or fully understand what im even on about, but i know its possible, me and my sissy were dry day and night before our first birthday.
on this baby forum ive been called selfish for trying to rush things, i should let him be a baby (baring in mind when i posted on the baby section i was told to move to the toddler section bcos M isnt a baby no more) im causing him un needed stress etc. there is no stress, i dont force him, i dont make him sit on the potty till he does something and i dont get stressed if he pees on my floor, so really i dont see what im doing so wrong, i dont see how im selfish for wanting my little boy out of nappies ASAP, i have even explained why i do.. M has eczema, just like me, on his bum where the elastic sits he has a constant weaping rash that he sits and scratches, just a hour out of a nappy clears it but soon comes back when i put one on him, and yes i do use cream, he also has it more on his bum again from wearing nappies and yes they do get changed often so its not the fact they are wet that is causing this, he also sits and pulls them off bcos he doesnt like wearing them. when i change him he kicks me in the face, bites my arm or leg, gets poo all over me (inc. work clothes) and himself, he stresses him self out that much he stops breathing and gets himself worked up, ive tried making a game out of it, OH plays with him while i change him we have tried just about everything but he gets more worked up so please tell me why im such a selfish parent???
