I finished reading "Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha" by Roddy Doyle last night: and it was brilliant. It was actually quite funny in some places! I had a laugh at some of it. It is a well-written book and thoroughly enjoyable to read.
I am now reading a biography about Queen Elizabeth II. The book was written when she was alive, so it refers to her in a living sense. Still, it is a book I am looking forward to reading and finishing!

It's still classed as an autobiography afaik.
Have you been watching The Crown?
Despite being an anti royalist, I have rather enjoyed it.
haha...resumes. We are starting to interview people for the President position.
I used to really enjoy interviewing. I know it was stressful, but almost always a positive experience. I never interviewed to that level though.
My experience was mostly staff, but occasionally, I got sucked in to help other departments interview subcontractors.
We have a committee, I am just one of them Cherry. I think our compensation package draw them in, all the way from New York to Texas, we have received over 300 resumes so far.

WOW, how do you manage to whittle them down to a few?

That must be hard work.
We have a search firm working on it Cherry. They selected about 25 so far. We interview 3 persons each week. We are on the second batch now.

You can tell a lot from a resume:
1. The spelling shows the level of education/even if they are dyslexic and need a computer programme to correct their work 2. The layout shows knowledge of how documents in the workplace are designed/even how organised they are 3. The type of language shows competence/or lack of 4. The qualifications listed shows their ambitions/lack of ambitions/life struggles/etc. 5. If a candidate gets caught out in a lie, then they won't get the job 6. Hobbies listed show what type of skills they have: cycling shows stamina/painting shows artistry/etc.
I do think resumes show so much about the candidate. They don't realise it, but their inner skills - or lack of skills - are on that resume.

I finished reading a biography about Queen Elizabeth II yesterday: it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. It took a good six hours to read, but was worth every minute. It was more about the former Queen and the state of politics during her reign. It was written by a male author, so it didn't focus on her looks or anything like that. It was factual and concise. Plus, it had its moments of humour. A well written biography.
I am now reading a Hercule Poirot novel: which is equally as good. I do love Agatha Christie.
I've read several ebooks lately, most from authors I've read before. Still really enjoying Kimberly Rae Jordan, and I wish that July were already here for her next book!
Looking for a different kind of Christmas story? Perhaps renowned science fiction writer and author of 2001: A Space Odyssey as well as its follower-up novels, Arthur C. Clarke, has just the Christmas story for those who feel the regular mundane ones were a bit tired.
The Star follows a Jesuit priest during a crisis of faith as he accompanies a space expedition to a far distant star system. It is here that they discover that the now void of life system once was populated with an intelligent species such as our own. Along the way, he makes a life-changing realization which may forever impact how he sees the very fabric of all creation.
I am just about to get into the "Inspector Morse" collection I recently bought. It wll take a while before I get through them all as there are thirteen in the collection and I will break off into other books from time to time.

Please let us know how you find them. I love the morse tv show but I found Colin Dexters writing difficult.

Id love to hear your opinion on it
I have read at least a couple of them before so I know they will be Ok. It's something for me to think about as I know the stories so well from the TV programs that I can easily follow the reading. I will probably mention them as I finish each.
