I also vote with the "what does that mean?" button. I thought to be chuffed about something meant to be really happy/proud, but I have no idea what it means as a verb... some sort of Britishism i suppose?...

It can mean anything Mary.
I intended it with some sexual overtones just for fun, mostly masturbation.
We use it around my sorority like that.
The funny thing is, guys are clueless about it.
So we kid them like "We heard you chuffing " and we laugh hysterically at their blank faces,
although some have caught on, so they tease right back.
