I think most of us reckon our parents made a bit of a hash of choosing our names.

I have already moaned about mine lol

If you could go back in time and whisper your chosen name in their ear, just as they registered you, what would it be?

I would go for something, not too long, but a little more exotic, a little more cosmopolitan.

I have always liked the name Simone, to me it has a hint of being french about it, and it is rare enough to still enable to me to be a little different from the norm.

Simone sounds great! I used to hate my name, but I like it now.

But I dreamed of giving a special name for my daughter, Miroslava. I'd call her Mira. But it appeared I have as son))) There's also a male name Miroslav, but I don't like the male variant...

It is pronounced as a rhyme to 'dye-rah'. That would be another choice for me lol

my choice of name would be Red or Elhaine.

I got my daughters name from a PS2 game, "RAZIEL". its an angels name who keeps secret. then I got her first name from my dream as Jade, well, I changed the spelling as JHEIDLYN ^_^ but then I call her as CHAM..hahahaha! from a burgers name. it was the first food I saw right after I gave birth to her at the hospital

Names are funny, I always remember a lovely story from when I was a child. It had a maid called Sally as the main character, so when I see you appear here, I always associate you with that maid, and wonder if you will go and fetch me my milk and a biscuit.

I think the one I wrote had to be written Myroslava, as with "i" it would be "M-ai-r-a" and I meant it to be "M-i-r-a".

I'm okay with mine. I like flowers and plants lol when I was younger I thought it was too girly, but I don't care either way anymore. Now I guess I like being Heather Lee.

I also used to wish I could have a less common name, or that my yiddish name was my real name because it was created for me... but I don't really know what I'd choose for myself.

My mom did say she originally thought of Elizabeth for me, but a poem about Heather flowers peeking through the snow on a mountain side really stuck with her, so she went with it =p
