Richard Branson went to Space and Back today, 50 miles in less than 10 min, all for $250K. Yup, he can now brag he went to space.
How come he is not a billionaire who gets treated, and regarded as a twat?
Litigatious, or a genuine saint?
Branson? I don't think much of him.
A few years ago, he went on linkedin singing and praising his secretary Helen of how loyal and dedicated she was, he would work into early morning and she still stayed at work with him, she ran to the office even in the late night or weekend just to get things for him. I then asked him: you don't think she needs to have time for her family? or at least time to rest?

I never heard back from him.
Andrea just told me he was tight with his staff's pay packets through the pandemic.... Twat!

Well the edge of space anyway. As far as the weightlessness goes it was only because the plane was in a dive, something NASA does all the time in their astronaut training. And this is done at much lower altitudes.

Edge of space, that's all there is. Even shorter distance than my house to Sacramento of 72 miles.
I was already aware of this. One of the early flashes of perception in my mind. I do have other thoughts of exceeding the speed of light (at least effectively, not as current physically) but I don't move in the right circles to discuss the ideas.
In the Dune series they talk of "folding space" to travel. We do have the minds to think beyond obvious logic, like 'make a space ship go faster, and faster'.
I honestly believe that space travel will be conquered, should we survive long enough.

Scientists have found dark matter and dark energy in the universe. They do not know exactly what these concepts are and what their functions are, but they exist.
This is a very big universe and is utterly mysterious. Also, we only know a fraction about the universe we live in.
No, but maybe we'll get one eventually for some nerdy fun.
It's something that I occasionally look at too but have never got one. Things here now are far better(?) as they turn off the streetlamps toward midnight and it is somewhat darker. The thing is that I am usually fast asleep by that time lol

Our street lights stay on all night. I have never heard of them shutting them down after a certain time.

It is a council cost cutting measure which came in a few years ago. It's not often I am out and about late but I do remember walking through the back streets of the city to my car one evening. I was glad there were students doing the same so I wasn't alone. It was almost pitch black in places, so much so that I could hear their voices but couldn't always see them.. During the day I park outside of the centre and I did the same without realising.
