I am sorry I disappeared a few days. Everything is a bit overwhelming in my life right now. Nothing bad, just busy, moving, getting a new place, tried to get a place close to my office while looking for a place we like in this town, in the area my hubby prefers....
Finally, I found a solution to everything. We have almost 7 weeks left to pack. I have packed about 1/3 of it, my mover kept telling me not to worry, they will handle all the art works, wines bottles.... I only have to dump everything in the plastic bags and put them in the box and they will handle the rest, so that's a relief. I have no one to help me this time but thanks God, these movers have moved me three times in the last 7 years so they know me.
I did not see any house I liked on the market up to about 5 hours ago, my broker is making arrangement for us to see the house tomorrow. If it's like in the pictures, we will make a cash offer on the spot! The backyard is what made my husband and I fell for the house. Anything else can be fixed. But if that does not work out, my employer has come to my rescue, I will be staying in the university housing, a beautiful model home of 5 bed, 4.5 bath house with backyard over looking the hill, until I find the house we like.
Most of my stress has gone away. I can now focus on moving, like pack one room every three days.
I will continue to keep you posted, I will let you know tomorrow if I have truly found my new house!
Annie, I am so glad to hear that the stress is gone and you can pack at a more leisurely pace.I know how much stress moving can be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and the house you are going to see will be the one. I have a feeling you are very close now.

Goodnight, Ladies.
That's a big weight off if you have somewhere to go.
We put in an offer this morning. It's an older home so the inspection report is like a rap sheet but we are buying the land mainly, so we can't complain.
I have a feeling they will turn it down and it will be back and forth a few times. In the meantime, I am gathering a list of what need to be done with the house, who will be hired to do them and how much I have to spend.

It sounds like things could be getting exciting Annie.
P.S. I made a new thread for the house chats! Now we can use this to keep everyone updated in one place more easily about any moving or whatever else related to our homes in particular.

Good plan.
I am getting nervous about our house sale. The buyer has paid for a two hour survey, and the house is not brand new by a long chalk.
We had a survey done of the property we have now. We just wanted to know where exactly it ended because we thought it ended closer to the house than it did... it wasn't going to change our decision overall. Hopefully that will be the case with your buyers?

Yes, I also tend to believe that once they have put their hands in their pockets, they are reluctant to back out and say goodbye to their cash.
Hi Ladies, thanks so much for all the notes, I must admit I have not read everything so I am not sure but curious if Cherry was able to sell the house after all.
For me, I am running into the greedy mentality of this Silicon Valley again. The seller is holding out because she is hoping to get an offer much higher than her asking price. They had 72 hours to accept my offer and they are jerking me around "no yes or no, please give us a week or so..." I am very disappointed until an hour ago, when another house popped up on the market, a much better house, curb appeal, high ceiling in every room and 300 SFT larger, requires a lot less remodeling and all appliances were just replaced a few weeks ago, even got built in spa, firepit and bbq station in the backyard and the lot is larger, so the broker is trying to get an appointment for us to see the house this afternoon. This time, I will add 3% on top of the asking price and require an immediate answer.I am hoping it will work. I really like this area.

Good luck Annie. We are waiting for the surveyor to arrive on behalf of the buyer. If his report is acceptable to them, then we are in business.

Thanks Karen, I hope so. Please not another greedy seller. When I priced my house, the first buyer who was willing to pay that price got the house. I did not sit there and waited for the highest bidder.
We have the appointment to see the house tomorrow at 12. But we drove by and scouted the area today. We love it. There are mature trees lined streets after streets, 9 out of 10 houses are one-story house, most front doors are large double doors with beautiful glass and gorgeous opening on the top that shows the chandelier, I could even see it from the outside.

Annie we are all hoping for you. Please let us know how it goes and hopefully you will have some exciting news for us.
Hi Ladies, it has been only a week and how many houses have I been through. There are so many people with so much money who continue to outbid me every single time.
I am now on to the next house, we are waiting for the quote to fix everything on the disclosure reports then we will determine how much we want to bid, we have to submit the bid by Tuesday.

Thanks Karen, we did not get this one. I was advised to write a personal letter to the sellers but I think that's cheesy, I have already been willing to pay them more than they asked by a lot...( you will flip if you know, it's so ridiculous), why do I have to beg them too?
