We watched the 6 part series Truelove. A group of senior citizens decide on a pact to help each other die when their time comes. But it all gets very tangled...
The best line, the one that sums up the madness of the law. " I have stage 4 cancer, Im on suicide watch, and I have a DNR "

Was it worthwhile?
We liked it, not sure of the ending but you cant always have it your way..a simple story of love friendships and regrets.

I'm finishing up Season 8 of Call the Midwife. I'll pick up Season 9 from the library tomorrow.
I decided today that Edgar Allen Poe's birthday was a good time to watch A Tale of Poes and Fire, a Season 3 episode of Gilmore Girls. Fun! I think I'll watch the whole series once I'm done with this watch-through of Call the Midwife!
We have moved onto the OZ version of married at first sight. The Ozzy men are not the most thoughtful.
It is all quite eye opening, for most ozzies are british heritage, and they look like me, and they dress like me, but they are definitely different from me.
I think I might be plannng a trip to the cinema...
I heard this morning that Bob Marley; One love, a film about the life and music of the reggae star is being released Feb 14th.. Ive always loved Bob's music so this is a film I think I would enjoy.

I am never sure about these type of films as knowing the person in real life, to some extent, always seems to bring comparison. It's one reason why I often prefer lesser original acts to tribute bands. I'll keep my ears open to reviews and clips from the movie.

I enjoyed both the Freddy Mercury, and the Elton John film recently-ish..... Even though I am not fussy on EJ music.

Hulu has a series "The Split" which I am finding interesting yet somewhat dark. (I do like Nicola Walker, an interesting face, talented actress.
The series is about divorce, more particularly the preparation for divorce. It includes three seasons, 6-episodes in each. At first I thought the series might just be a slam on men, but it isn't. The story line features a slew of divorces but has a common thread that continues throughout.
It may not be totally realistic but then people do mess up their lives I'm sure.
I usually read while watching TV. "The Split" got my full attention at times, so there is that to recommend.

I finished Star Trek Enterprise! On to DS9 this week and I'm planning to go through the full series, so this may take a while.
I found Call the Midwife streaming on a free Canadian service, so I'll be watching Season 9 that way and continuing my series rewatch online. Looking forward to the newest season when it starts here!
And with the kids: We've been watching Muppet movies lately.

Right now, we're binge-watching Night Court (the one with Harry Anderson), not the current series.
We're also re-watching Northern Exposure. Due to music licensing issues, the series hasn't been streaming until now. I bought the DVD set last year, and we watched all but season 6. I hadn't really missed the music...not to mention that I didn't remember it from 30 years ago...it was all about the quirky characters for me. I have noticed the difference between what's on Prime vs. the DVD set I watched only last year.

I watched a few Northern Exposures, and I can tell you that you would really enjoy Local Hero, a film set in Scotland. It had a very similar feel to it.
A bit old hat I got a compilation of six Sean Connery James Bond DVD's from the charity book sale I went to a few days back. Movies I love to watch as they are action packed but not too complex to work out. I like simple themes rather than a psychological workout when I relax with a film.

I am funny with James Bond films. I will never choose to watch one, but if I turn on the telly and it's on, I will. Hence it is many years since I saw a Bond film opening.

I find that the openings can be some of the most interesting parts. They are almost mini films in themselves.

You could tell me that there was a free chocolate voucher at the opening of the films, and I would have to take your word for it.

The kids watched Sonic 2 on the weekend (borrowed from the library after we noticed it there). I wasn't that interested, but some things caught my attention a little while I was busy with a typing project (copying Hebrew transliteration for the weekly Torah portions - so much faster with the keyboard!). Have to say that Jim Carrey's voice was much more pleasant even as the villain than a couple other characters, hee hee. Okay, I might be biased because Jim is Canadian...
Meanwhile, I'm going to check what's next for my Call the Midwife re-watch. I think the seasons are a bit mixed on the free streaming service I'm using, so I need to check whether the next Christmas special I watch is showing with the right season - on the DVDs, they're at the beginning of the season (like an episode 0 before episode 1, if you follow computer programming number order...) but I see them at the end of a season when I'm looking at the service, so I want to see if they've got them in the right place!
And I'm keeping an email in my inbox and leaving it unread to remind me to get back to Tubi for Dance Academy. Maybe I'll just end up skipping past Seasons 2 and 3 to watch the movie on Amazon Prime? Not sure yet how much of this teen show I'll actually enjoy...
Up soon: March has the second (new) Dune movie and then new Call the Midwife on PBS, and the start of April has the last season of ST: Discovery!

I wasn't that impressed with the first Dune movie, but I love all the books, so will remain optimistic. So far I have read 19 of them.
