One of the best cultural events I have ever attended was at the Grrek street festival. The food was great, people were so nice. Men, women, old and young spent time teaching us how to dance their traditional dance. They even yielded their spot in the food queue for us.

I think apologising is a balancing act: if you're apologising too much, you're going to be targeted. If you never apologise you're selfish and mean. Plus, sincere apologies are always better than faking a sorry. And there are many, many people who simply never say sorry: and even if they did, they wouldn't mean it.
I guess it's like some people are psychopathic, narcissistic or sociopathic. You just can't tell by looking at someone. That's what makes people scary sometimes. Most people are normal: maybe not sweet or nice, but normal. Yet there are people who are pure evil. And how can you tell which is which? You can only tell by behaviour.
So trust your gut instinct and never trust anyone: even if they apologise.
Sometimes. Not every time, though.. I am thinking of ordering some PF Changs delivery for it because I have to use one of my coupons by March, so thought I might as well use it for V-day Not very romantic, eh?
My SO and I were long distance for the first year and a half I think.. we actually wrote each other nice love letters back then (yes, handwritten!) lol

Hey, who doesn't love a good meal. I love me some PF Chang's!
I just have my kids to celebrate Valentine's with, but might buy myself carnations if I remember - I had a friend who once bought a bunch and then gave them to all her single female friends. It was very nice and felt like I counted that year on a holiday that can shut out all the single people...
As for cards... My boys haven't been doing Valentine's cards for anyone, probably since the older two stopped going to public school? I think it just stressed them out, especially when printing was a labour-intensive process for them. (The middle guy has some great block printing going on. I'm impressed! Art is his pencil-grip practice!) And I usually forget to mark the day with cards for anyone else. Oops, bad example for them if I wanted them to use it as a day to celebrate friendship!
We celebrate it without fail because its our wedding anniversary...
That's really sweet.
Was it really intended?
I was young and naive. I thought getting married on valentine's Day would mean he could never forget.. I had underestimated the ability of men not to get the hint...
