I have had a great day
A couple of my regulars have booked to have some nail art done the next time they visit. I love the change in routine to let my creative juices run wild, so to speak, and create a 'masterpiece' for someone
The majority of my work is basic solid colour nail varnish, which is fine, but it is nice to do something different now and again.
Today has been catch-up for laundry, what with the holiday yesterday. (Canada is now 157!) I also baked a little, took a walk with the youngest, and checked in with the budget software.
I think I'll be diving back into some genealogy fun soon, though I do have a couple other things I should/could/maybe-wanna get done. It's just so addicting filling out silly pedigree charts so I'll have info to display in a better manner later. (I'm thinking something like a bio page would be more fun to read!) And then the historical research sidetrips... like learning more about the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, who popped up in one branch of the fam!

I went to work as normal. I ran an errand for my boss: which I usually do. But I got the date wrong in the stamp book: I put 2/07 instead of 3/07. So I corrected my mistake: thankfully my boss realized too when I told her. I genuinely got the date wrong: I thought it was the 2nd of July today. When I looked at the wall calendar I twigged. It's not a mistake I'll make again.

My client has sent me a photo they got from the Internet of the design they would like me to reproduce ....
The ladies' mother will be celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary ('Ruby' anniversary) next week, so her daughter wanted a special design for the occasion.
I had asked her to send me a photo of the design she wanted, so it would give me chance to make sure I had all the components required. The base colour is a beautiful deep red, looking like a precious ruby gemstone. Gold and white varnish applied with a fine bristled brush will give the effect of 'sprinkles of gold. Small gold beads adds the raised gem effect, which will be applied over the final clear varnish coating.
It looks very intricate, but I have all that I need. It will take a while to do the nail art, so I have set aside a full afternoon for her on the actual day.
No pressure for me, but I feel confident on completing the job successfully

Those are really great, I love them. My so can do stuff like that. The intricate work is done with a sharpened cocktail stick. I had the most beautiful delicate ferns once...

I love them. I have done a little nail art on my nails in the past but that is beyond me. It does not help when trying to work with the 'wrong hand' either

I cut my hair and I'm half way through cleaning the bathroom. Will do dishes while the floor dries and then go shower.
Allergies are driving me crazy today. Got my earplugs in to smother the sounds of the fireworks so I can keep from being on edge all day.
Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.
They didn't turn up, so I had to re-arrange the appointment. I did this yesterday.
Today I went food shopping and spent time with the four cats and my dad. My dad and I ate lunch together and I did my exercises. My dad cooked dinner and drove me home later.
I came home to a clean house, laundry was done and put away, dinner was ready. I do have great cleaning service and household support people. They have been with us for at least 15 years if not more.
