"TUBI" is airing the 2008 (I think) series "Kingdom". A lawyer who is a bit of a push-over is the principle character. Cute I think, interesting characters. Maybe a push-over isn't all bad.
Yesterday I watched my Christmas faovourite: The Snowman and the Snowdog. It brought tears to my eyes, as usual. Now I reaslise it will soon be time to change from my Christmas avatar - The Snowdog

Dog stories can break a person's heart.
I get fed up of characters that always start off weedy, and then when it gets down to it, they always have plenty of backbone. Unless they are baddies of course.
That, for me, was one of the highlights of Alien, when a woman was so frightened, she just froze solid, and was promptly taken out by the alien.
We're nearing the end of iZombie in the next few days...
Might start The Witcher: Blood Origin after.
Speaking of The Witcher... I can't believe the main actor is being replaced. Now it's probably going to flop after the change because everyone liked who was playing it already, and a lot of people are saying they will stop watching. I was really looking forward to all 7 seasons they planned
I decided it was time to finally get to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, extended editions! I'm about halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring, having finished the first disc in 2 or 3 sessions. I've watched some of the special features too. Still such a great movie after two decades!

I found that I enjoyed it the first time I saw it, but the second was just a bit dull. Maybe I read the book too often. That was three times.
I will say that The Hobbit trilogy was awful, and The Rings of Power even worse.
I like all of the movies and the TV show, but the first trilogy made is the best to me. And I have the books as well, so I should read them more often. (My Hobbit copy is being used right now for reading to the youngest, so that breaks it in!)

....and as you can see, The Hobbit is a teensy little book, so to make three films lasting about three hours, explains why the films seem lacking, yet interminable.
I've tried to watch the films and failed I love the book don't get me wrong I first read Lord of the Rings when I was about 8. Maybe it is that spreading out of the film that makes it lose the magic or maybe it's just the fact that your imagination is left with nothing to do. If I see a second-hand copy of Harry Potter I might buy it because to be honest I fell asleep about 20 minutes into the first film and never attempted to watch another one but maybe like Lord of the Rings it's because the film takes away all of the magic that the book has.
Last night I found myself agreeing with Rishi sunak.. yes shock horror indeed. The reason? We watched an episode of The apprentice UK. What's 400 x 45? Not one of the wizkid brainiacs knew the answer..too difficult? Ok we're going to make 400 bao buns with a fish filling and we only order one kilo of fish... seriously?
Not one of these so called talented business person's thought that 1 kg of fish spread across 400 buns might just mean there wouldn't be enough fish.. Dear lord if this is our future we are seriously ......in trouble. And maths lessons isn't all they need...
If the fact that they didn't have two brain cells to rub together wasn't bad enough the appearance of some of the women was enough to make shock anyone. they looked like the cast of The Rocky Horror Show. Eyebrows brushed up like hairy insects crawling across their faces and lips that a duck-billed platypus would be proud of. One of them seem to be so full of whatever fillers they use she had difficulty in actually eating food. Make-up about 2 inches thick and heels that looks like some kind of torture instruments, they tripped about like distorted Barbie dolls.
I won't be watching again I can't it gave me nightmares...
I've not been watching a whole lot, because I've had no batteries in my remote
I got some today, though so can catch up on my shows over the weekend
I was getting to that point recently when the TV remote started playing up but I quickly bought a 'One for All' replacement before it failed completely. It was worn out. There used to be hidden flaps on TV's conceiling manually operatable channel buttons etc but these seem to have disappeared now.

You can sometimes get a little extra charge if you leave them on the radiator for an hour.
That's true. I have also found that poor contacts can be an issue too as my first action is to open the cover and take the batteries out then put them back in. This usually works, for a while, when I have tried it.

It also helps if you rub the contact points on your palm. The little bit of grease helps the connection.
We will have to start a new show again. We finished The Witcher: Blood Origins.. it was 4 episodes. I think most people agree they wished it were longer. It was fitting a whole lot of history into too few episodes. I would have liked to see more... however, it was supposed to be a backstory, which I suppose is more to help with knowing about some things that are going to be in The Witcher
Aside from that, we are still watching Trailer Park Boys... including the movies in between seasons and such lol there's a lot going on in their universe.

I have never used it on the TV remote but I do have some iso propyl alcohol for cleaning electrical contacts free of grease, then adding a smear of Duck Oil for long term protection. I imagine WD 40 would work too but I hate the smell. It's possible that some of the constituents in body grease may not be helpful in the longer term.

I'm getting excited for Dune Part Two in November! Our old theatre was showing Dune on Friday, so I watched at home on the weekend (starting on Friday, so I semi-participated in a social event, ha ha!). Of course, seeing the movie made me want more of the great visuals and music!
We also watched most of the second Downton Abbey movie on the weekend, since the older boys chose that for entertainment. We'll need to find a half-hour soon to finish it off. Is it educational because it's set in the 1920's?

I was disappointed in Dune. I am a big fan of the books, I did enjoy the original Dune film though with Kyle Maclachlan. Even the tv series was better.
